At less than half a mile round-trip, Ada-Hi Falls trail is perfect for those that don't want to spend hours on the trail. Located in Black Rock Mountain State Park, this hike may be short, but it descends quite steeply making it a tough climb on the way out.
Park in the narrow gravel lot across the road from the trailhead and right before you enter the campground area. I don't remember seeing a pay station here so make sure you go up to the Visitor Center to get a parking pass. You're going to want to go there anyways as the views from the Visitor Center area are some of the best in the park.
The trail immediately descends a flight of steps, the first of three on the way to the falls. Continuing down steeply you'll notice a couple benches you may be using on the way back up.
After .2 miles the trail comes to a boardwalk and viewing platform to Ada-Hi Falls cascading down a steep rock face. Opposite the falls there is a bit of a view, but not much. Now it's time to head back up. Climbing at a rate of over 1100 feet per mile, you'll be glad this is a short trail.
