Follow along and cross over numerous creeks on the short 3-mile Chicopee Woods Bridge Loop hike. While dogs are no longer allowed, this park is great for the rest of the family. Many other trails connect, allowing you to change up your route for a longer or shorter trip.
The Bridge Loop begins at either end of the parking lot. You could also park at the Science Center and take connecting trails. There are no restrooms at the trailhead, but you can access the ones in the Science Center during operating hours.
From the trailhead at the end of the parking lot, the Bridge Loop quickly splits off of the Upland Trail to the right. If you want to make the loop begin and end here, cutting off the top section that leads to the other end of the parking lot, there is a short unmarked side trail on the left that connects or you could continue on the Upland Trail a tenth of a mile and make a left on the Bridge-Upland Connector Trail.
Otherwise, just stay on the green-blazed Bridge Loop. All intersections have trail markers and maps and the trails are all well blazed, so getting lost shouldn't be a concern. The southern section of the loop shares .4 miles with the orange-blazed Lake Loop. Along this section you'll cross the suspension bridge. Combine the Bridge and Lake Loops for a longer 5-mile hike that adds some lake views.
