Take a journey along the Bartram Trail, passing two impressive waterfalls before ascending Pinnacle Knob to breathtaking views. Keep it interesting on this feature rich north Georgia hike that delivers something for everyone.
There are two parking areas at Warwoman Dell Recreation Area. This page begins at the second larger one at the end of the road. The Bartram Trail descends from above the parking lot, leaving the road halfway between the two parking lots. Just follow the yellow blazed trail.
Cross Warwoman Road, heading up Becky Branch to arrive at Becky Branch Falls in a quarter mile. Continue uphill then back down before reaching a mile. From here, the trail stays level until you reach Martin Creek Falls at mile 2. Just before and after the second waterfall the trail makes sharp right turns at an open area, designated by yellow blazes with arrows pointing the way.
The Martin Creek Falls double waterfall is much larger and more powerful than the first. Many people choose to end the hike here, as described in Becky Branch and Martin Creek Falls. If continuing on, the hike begins it's main ascent to Pinnacle Knob from here.
The trail climbs at a constant rate of just over 500 feet/mile until it reaches the summit of Pinnacle Knob at 4.3 miles in. At mile 3.4 make sure to turn left onto the lime green blazed Pinnacle Knob Trail. At the summit a large bare rock area provides spectacular 180° views. A short trail behind the view heads up a few feet to the actual summit and campsite. If you want a shorter trip, check out Pinnacle Knob via Courthouse Gap.
